Janey was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A classically trained pianist since the age of five, Janey began playing and singing at the age of 3 and has had a deep love for composing ever since she can remember. A graduate of Voice from Indiana University's School of Music, Janey eventually moved to Los Angeles. It is there she has worked extensively as session singer for records, TV, movies and commercials.

Janey has sung with many well known artists such as Luther Vandross, Michael Bolton, Elton John, Richard Marx, Peter Cetera, Olivia Newton John, Patti LaBelle, Harry Connick Jr., David Foster, Eric Carmen, George Benson, Julio Iglesias, Mel Torme, Chaka Khan and more. Some of her TV work includes, "The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson," "The Tonight Show starring Jay Leno," "Nightcourt," "The Cosby Show," "Knotts Landing," "Falcon Crest," "The A-Team," "Comic Relief," "Days of Our Lives," "The Untouchables, to name a few.

Her movie credits include "Batman Returns," "About Last Night," "Aladdin," "Jurassic Park," "City Slickers 2," "the Goofy Movie," "Waterworld," "Species," and "The Net." Her voice is featured in countless commercials for products such as Barbie®, Pontiac®, Taco Bell®, Burger King®, Levi's®, MCI®, McDonald's®, Oldsmobile®, Heath Bars®, Hershey®, Wonderbread®, Honda®, and Mercedes®.

Janey has written songs for many artists besides herself and her husband Bruce. Her songs have been recorded by the likes of Patti LaBelle, Lara Fabian, Sarah Brightman, Kenny G, Bill Champlin, Jay Graydon, Eric Carmen, Wendy Moten, Randy Waldman and The Jets. Janey resides in Nashville with her husband and daughter Samantha.
